About Us

Bargad is a rights based open forum of the youth that puts premium upon revitalizing the potential of the young people of Pakistan, particularly that of the educational institutions, and to integrate them with the mainstream dynamics of the country.

Literate youth, with a focus upon girls, are the primary target group of our work. This includes college-going students, community youth and those affiliated with religious seminaries. The age bracket for the youth is 18-28 years as adopted by the Pakistani government. To facilitate youth development programmes, we also undertake activities with faculty members, parents, community elders, elected and non-elected officials, and policy makers.

Bargad is an affirmative response to troubling youth apathy towards social causes in Pakistan.

The working approach of Bargad is to combine rights-based training with personal development of youth and supports youth with mobilization, advocacy and capacity building work.

Bargad has so far been successful in attracting more than 800 youth volunteers throughout Pakistan who have regularly contributed to its projects. The hallmark of its work is that Bargad projects are implemented by the youth themselves, including workplanning responsibilities.
