This magazine is 2nd special number on review of national education policies of 1966, 1969, 1970, 1972, 1979, 1992, 1998 and 2007. The previous number dealt with the national education policies of colonial times, 1947, 1951 and 1957.

The focus of both the special numbers is to see how nation building process has been addressed through education policies in Pakistan and what have been the vision, aims and objectives of these polices. This agenda setting pursuit of education policies can be best discerned by the place of religion, language and gender in Pakistani education system.

We have extensively used original text of national education policies in our special numbers and have especially highlighted guidelines of our founding father Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah to create national consensus on crucial issues of education system in Pakistan.

We can proudly say that special numbers of BARGAD’s magazines on education policies are a rare reference for those who are interested to track education policies in Pakistan, whereby original text of these policies have been collected together for the first time to review thinking of their formulators systemically and in chronological order.
