A MGAZINE FOR THE YOUTH, BY THE YOUTH, OF THE YOUTH

Since its release in early 2001, BARGAD Magazine has established itself as an indispensable source of information and knowledge on youth in Pakistan.

The uniqueness of the BARGAD Magazine is that it publishes youth’s perspective and its text is mostly generated by the youth themselves under advisory of Iqbal Haider Butt.
Another notable aspect of the Magazine’s contents is that its every issue is a special number on a dedicated theme of youth.

Material on youth is quite rare in Pakistan and the BARGAD Magazine was an effort to fill information and knowledge gap in line with the organizational mandate: To Promote Peace, Justice and Cooperation among Youth in Pakistan. It has proved not only to be an exclusive youth voice, but also has served as reference for those who are engaged in their research, policy and development work on Pakistani youth.

It is because of such initiatives like this Magazine that now the public and policy circles in the country are compelled to take note of the youth as a special area of focus. The issue’s marginal position in Pakistan is growing decreasing as compared to when we started this Magazine.

The frequency of the BARGAD Magazine has been varied from quarterly to bi-annual. We are providing here full access to a few volumes of the Magazine, which you can also download. It is hoped that this youth-oriented text will prompt you to think over youth.
